**Round 2, Part 1**
So both Mike and Sam had lost their first Pokémon, now they were both down to 2 each. They both recalled their Pokémon to their Pokeballs and got ready to bring out their second one’s.
Mike: “Well here goes nothing, now Dewott come on out!”
(Dewott appears)
Sam: “Mike wants a challenge? I’ll give him one, now Staraptor let’s go!”
(Staraptor appears)
Zoey: “Mike’s using a Water Type and Sam’s using a Flying Type?”
Cameron: “Well they’re both pretty tough, so there’s no clear cut winner.”
(Dawn appears which makes Cameron nervous)
Dawn: “You don’t mind if I stand here do you?”
Cameron: “Uhhhhhhh…”
Zoey: “Not at all Dawn, go right ahead.”
Dawn: “Thank you Zoey.”
(Scott sees the way Cameron is looking at Dawn, which has him intrigued)
Chef Hatchet: “Ready… And… GO!”
Mike: “Dewott use Water Gun!”
(Dewott shoots water from its mouth)
Sam: “Staraptor dodge and use Sand Attack!”
Staraptor quickly dodged Water Gun then began to fly around the area in a big circle, creating a big dust cloud around Dewott that made it hard for it to see.
Staci: “Hey what’s Staraptor doing?”
Cameron: “It looks like its using Sand Attack to create some sort of sand tornado?”
Lightning: “Now that’s what Lightning calls strategy!”
Mike: “Dewott try to hang in there!”
(Dewott hangs in)
Sam: “Now Staraptor use Brave Bird!”
Staraptor went flying into the tornado as its body glowed bright blue and knocked Dewott to the ground.
Zoey: “Oh no!”
Chris McLean: “Whoa! Now that was one impressive move! Its safe to say that Sam knows what he’s doing, Mike on the other hand I’m not so sure?”
Mike: “We’ll see about that. Dewott get up!”
(Dewott gets back up)
Sam: “Now Staraptor use Steel Wing!”
(Staraptor comes flying in with its left wing hardened)
Mike: “Dewott, counter it with Razor Shell!”
Dewott then took its 2 seashells and used them as swords to counter against Steel Wing.
Brick: “Hey nice move Mike.”
Mike: “Now use Aqua Jet!”
Dewott then created a barrier of water around its body and rocketed it right into Staraptor. But now things were really getting heated up as both Pokémon looked at each other with determination.
Sam: “Impressive move, but now things really get good. Now Staraptor use Close Combat!”
Mike: “Use Razor Shell again!”
Pretty soon it looked like both Pokémon were dance fighting on the battlefield.
Chris McLean: “How do you like that? I can’t tell if this is a battle or a dance rehearsal?”
Mike: “Now use Whirlpool!”
Dewott then created a giant whirlpool that caught Staraptor inside of it. Then Dewott threw it and the battle was over.
Chef Hatchet: “Staraptor is unable to battle, Dewott wins!”
Mike: “Alright!”
Zoey: “Whew that was close.”
Dawn: “Indeed, with all the suspense its hard to tell which auras are in tune?”
Jo: “Seriously, that’s getting really old.”
Dawn: “Sorry, its what I do.”
(Sam recalls Staraptor to its Pokeball)
Sam: “Good job buddy, take nice long rest. (Takes out another Pokeball) Now for the moment of truth, Marshtomp let’s go!”
(Marshtomp appears)
Mike: “So Sam’s using Marshstomp eh? Dewott return! (Recalls Dewott to its Pokeball) Now Treecko I choose you!”
(Treecko appears)
Zoey: “Mike’s using Treecko?”
Cameron: “Good choice, especially since Grass Types have the advantage against Water Types.”
Dawn: “Don’t forget, Marshtomp is a Ground Type too.”
Cameron: “Well yeah, I knew that too. (Blushes)”
Chef Hatchet: “Ready… And… GO!”
Sam: “Marshtomp us Mud Shot!”
(Mashstomp begins to fire mud from its mouth)
Mike: “Treecko use Quick Attack!”
Treecko quickly got out of the way and began to move around super fast.
Dakota: “Wow, Treecko’s fast!”
Staci: “You can say that again!”
Mike: “Now use Bullet Seed!”
(Treecko fires green seeds from its mouth at Marshtomp)
Sam: “Oh no!”
Mike: “Sweet, keep it up Treecko!”
Sam: “Marshtomp use Bide!”
Marshstomp began to glow as it harnessed the energy it absorbed from Bullet Seed.
Lightning: “Yo what up with Marshtomp?”
Dawn: “It would seem it is using Bide.”
Cameron: “Oh no!”
Once Marshtomp had harnessed enough energy, it fired it back at Treecko knocking it to the ground.
Mike: “Treecko!”
Zoey: “Oh no!”
Chris McLean: “Oh and just when things were going so well.”
Jo: “Guess Mike doesn’t have much of an advantage as he thought?”
Brick: “Don’t be so sure, Mike’s strong he’ll turn it around. I hope?”
Mike: “Come on Treecko! We’ve come so far!”
Treecko got back up and remembered all he and Mike had been through together since the day they met. When at that moment Treecko felt a surge go through his veins and then… It began to evolve!
Mike: “Huh?”
Zoey: “Whoa!”
(Everyone else gasps)
Dawn: “Just as I foretold.”
Then at that moment Treecko was now Grovyle.
Mike: “Whoa!”
Sam: “Oh boy!”
Chris McLean: “Amazing! Treecko has evolved into Grovyle right before our eyes! And I’ve got hunch things are about to heat even more?”
Dawn: “As much as I hate to agree with Chris, I believe he’s right.”
Mike: “Alright Grovyle, let’s win this thing! Use Quick Attack!”
Sam: “Marshstomp use Water Gun!”
As Marshstomp fired water from its mouth, Grovyle crossed its arms and the leaf stems glowed as they sharped to a point and Grovyle used this technique to diverting Water Gun.
Cameron: “Incredible! Grovyle’s using Leaf Blade.”
Zoey: “Awesome, go Mike!”
Mike: “Sweet! Now Grovyle use both Leaf Blade and Quick Attack!”
So Grovyle gave it all it had and rammed right into Marshstomp, ending the battle.
Chef Hatchet: “Marshstomp is unable to battle, Grovyle wins! Which means victory goes to Mike!”
Mike: “Alright we did it!”
Chris McLean: “And there you have it! Mike moves on to Round 2!”
Zoey: “Woo-hoo! Way to go Mike!”
Dakota: “Oh, Sam lost.”
Zoey: “Sorry Dakota.”
Sam: “Oh well, can’t win ‘em all I guess?”
(Sam recalls Marshtomp to its Pokeball)
Mike: “I’m really proud of you Grovyle, after all this time you finally evolved.”
Grovyle: “Grovyle.”
Chris McLean: “Okay folks, we’ll take a 10 minute break and when we come back we’ll move on to our second match; Zoey vs. Jo!”
Jo: “Well this should be good.”
Zoey: “Don’t underestimate me just yet.”
Jo: “Well then I guess we’ll just have to settle this on the battlefield now won’t we?”
Zoey: “You’re on Jo.”
(They both glare at each other intensely)
